The rune for today is Gebo. It is the symbol for gift, but means so much more than that. It is described aptly as being an exchange. Gifts are more than received, they are also given. In this, we find a need for balance, give and take, partnership, reciprocity, generosity. Let's dive into the means for love, career, and life.
In love, Gebo is fairly straight forward, but there is always nuance. If a giver always gives and lacks receiving, they will burn out and move on. This is the opportunity to look at ways in which you can personally give and take from a romantic relationship. Doing both, giving and receiving, is the only way that a true relationship works. Two (or more) people giving everything they have to love the other(s).
For work, this rune is focusing on what you are putting into your job. A career is putting in effort to receive a paycheck, accolades, and progress. This exchange is mutual. But if your job is taking more than giving, it's time to make some changes. Whether it's how you do things or looking for a different, more giving opportunity, you need to focus on the mutuality of employer and employee.
With life, a gift is often balanced and exchanged between friends and family. Is there a friend who is all take? What about a parent who refuses to give? Or a sibling that only reaches out when they want something? These are relationships that fail to find balance and every relationship, even with ourselves, must maintain balance. So today give yourself the gift of cutting out anything that takes without giving. You deserve to be given everything you want and need to be happy.
Onto today's tarot spread.
Past - Knight of Cups
Present - Five of Swords
Future - Ace of Swords
Obstacle - Reversed Page of Wands
Solution - Eight of Wands
The card representing the past indicates a following of one's heart. The card representing the present is focusing in on conflict or competition. The card representing the future is offering breakthroughs and mental clarity. The card representing the obstacle is saying there is a lack of direction and ideas. To which, the card representing the solution is advising alignment and quick decisions.
Between the rune and tarot cards, there is a clear message that there's a need to shift from the idealism of your past and push current disagreements to resolution through sharpening your mind. Further, if you have been putting this off, you need to make a sudden change and approach issues with rapid action.
Sage and I will be travelling through Monday. We will be back on Tuesday next week. Until then, I'm wishing that you'll walk through life with light and love! ~ Solace
